Asa L. Aradottir: Willow.

Watercolour on Yupo Paper.

.

Working primarily in watercolour, oil and mixed media, my paintings offer a visual exploration of ecological systems shaped by decades of experience in restoration ecology.

Rooted in countless hours of field work, my practice moves between intimate views of plant life at the ground level to landscape degradation and recovery.

Often works draw attention to the plant species that quietly anchor the restoration process — essential but frequently overlooked.

By highlighting aesthetic and functional roles of biodiversity in restoration contexts, my practice seeks to foster interdisciplinary dialogue between art and science and invite reflection on the processes of ecosystem recovery.
