Therese Livonne: Sediment of Blues.

Indigo Pigment and Gum Arabic on Synthetic Paper.

My work is grounded in material process and explores themes of transformation and the connection between the natural world and the human body.

I make handmade pigments from raw materials foraged from the landscape or grown in my pigment garden, and I see each work as a collaboration with the materials, an ongoing dialogue between control and chance, presence and absence, the geological and the bodily.
